The US Housing Market is in BIG Trouble: Mortgage Rates Jump to 23yr Highs

Selling Real Estate
The US housing market is in BIG trouble. Mortgage rates surged to a 23 year high (the highest since late 2000). Due to this jump in mortgage rates, for someone looking to buy a $400,000 home putting 5% down, it will cost them a whopping $1,070 more per month today compared to two years ago when average mortgage interest rates were only 2.9%. That represents a giant 68% increase.

In today’s housing market update, I share how this is impacting current homebuyers. I also share some early indications of homebuying demand to gauge which direction our housing market is headed.
