Realtor.com: Interesting Dynamics Occurring in the US Housing Market

Big changes happening right now with the US housing market! There’s FEWER homes for sale now compared to a year ago which is drastically different compared to the start of the year when there were 60% MORE homes for sale nationwide. This is mainly due to new listings falling year-over-year for 52 consecutive weeks = a year of declines. Additionally, even though average 30yr fixed mortgage rates have been at or above 6% all year, the US median sold price is up by 10% year to date.

To give you a quick mortgage interest rates update, according to the Mortgage News Daily the average 30yr fixed rate mortgage is around 7.1% for the current mortgage rates (at the time of filming this video for those with excellent credit).
