While the stock market has recovered from the 2020 crash, the real estate market is a grab bag of hits and misses. The overall property market fell by about 17% on the year but the difference in property returns by segment is enormous. Some sectors like retail and hotel lost as much as 50% of their value while data centers and infrastructure posted double-digit returns.
