Here’s some encouraging news for homebuyers: the National Association of Realtors (NAR) posted April’s pending home sales today. They reported that pendings dipped 4.5% from March. Many are blaming the shortage of homes listed for sale but in actuality housing inventory increased by 10.5% in April.
In addition, both existing home sales and new home sales dipped in April even when inventory increased. Could this be a sign that housing demand is decreasing and a shift is ahead?
To give you a quick mortgage interest rates update, according to the Mortgage News Daily the average 30yr FRM increased to 3.11% today for the current mortgage rates. This is mixed news if you’re a homebuyer right now or if you’re a homeowner looking to refinance.
